The Cotswolds’ architectural character is defined by local limestone — warm, textured and consistent across centuries of building. Our interior approach responds to that material honesty. In Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold, stone manor houses and converted barns call for interiors grounded in natural finishes: lime-washed oak, reclaimed flagstone, handmade tiles, hand-forged ironmongery. In Cheltenham and Cirencester, Regency and Georgian townhouses present more formal proportions, and our schemes reflect that with honed marble, detailed panelling and bespoke joinery in painted hardwood. Across Chipping Norton, Broadway and Tetbury, country homes range from listed cottages to substantial estates, each requiring a material palette that sits comfortably within the building’s existing character.
Our Cotswolds projects include listed building interiors, country house renovations, barn conversions, new-build fit-outs and single-room commissions. We manage spatial planning, material sourcing, bespoke joinery design, lighting, furniture curation and full build coordination. For listed properties, we work within heritage constraints — preparing material schedules, coordinating with conservation officers, and specifying finishes appropriate to the building’s grade and period.
The Cotswolds demands a particular sensitivity to materials. Stone, timber and metalwork must feel honest to the region. We source locally where possible, supplementing with imported materials — Italian marble, French limestone, hand-blown glass — only where they genuinely complement the existing palette.

Cotswolds projects require patience and precision. Listed buildings impose constraints on structural alterations, material choices and even colour palettes. We work within those constraints, not against them. Our process begins with the building — its stone, its light, its proportions. We develop material palettes using physical samples, testing them against existing surfaces in natural light. Joinery is detailed to complement original features, not compete with them. For kitchens and bathrooms, we introduce harder-wearing contemporary materials — engineered stone, brushed metals, reeded glass — that sit comfortably alongside the softer textures of lime plaster and reclaimed timber. Every installation is overseen by our project managers to ensure the finished result honours both the design and the building.
We work across the Cotswolds: Cheltenham, Cirencester, Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford, Moreton-in-Marsh, Chipping Norton, Broadway and Tetbury. Our projects range from listed manor houses to contemporary country homes and converted barns. We also serve neighbouring regions — see our Berkshire and Cheshire pages for more.

Yes. A significant proportion of our Cotswolds work involves listed buildings. We understand the constraints on material choices and structural interventions, and we prepare detailed proposals that satisfy heritage requirements while delivering a contemporary interior.
We work with honed and tumbled stone, reclaimed flagstone, lime-washed timber, handmade ceramic tiles, hand-forged ironmongery and natural plaster finishes.
