Material-first design for Yorkshire’s finest residences.

Yorkshire’s residential landscape is anchored in stone. From the Georgian terraces of Harrogate to the gritstone villas of Ilkley and the converted mill buildings of the Dales, the architecture here is defined by robust, honest materials. Our interior approach responds to that character. We work with local and imported stone — Yorkshire flagstone alongside honed Italian marble — dark-stained oak, lime-washed timber, hand-forged ironmongery and bespoke joinery detailed to complement the weight and texture of the building. In Wetherby and Knaresborough, detached family homes call for warm, practical schemes. In York, period townhouses demand careful spatial planning within narrow floor plates. Each project begins with the materials and the architecture, not a predetermined style.

Interior Design Services in Yorkshire

Our Yorkshire projects include complete house renovations, barn conversions, country house restorations, new-build fit-outs and individual room commissions. We handle spatial planning, material sourcing, bespoke joinery design, lighting, furniture curation and full build management. For period properties, we work with original features — exposed stone walls, timber beams, sash windows — integrating contemporary comfort without compromising the building’s integrity.

Many Yorkshire clients come to us having purchased a property that needs both structural renovation and interior design. We coordinate with architects and builders from the outset, ensuring interior specifications are integrated into the build programme rather than treated as an afterthought.

Rooted in the architecture.

Yorkshire properties have a material weight that most contemporary interiors ignore. Our process respects it. We begin with the building — its stone, its proportions, its light. Material palettes are developed using physical samples presented in the property itself, not on a screen. Joinery is drawn in detail, manufactured by specialist workshops and finished to sit comfortably alongside original features. For barn conversions, we work with the double-height volumes and exposed structure rather than against them. For stone villas, we select finishes that complement the existing palette. On site, our project managers oversee every installation to ensure the finished result matches our design intent.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work in Yorkshire?

Yes. We work across Yorkshire’s principal residential areas, including Harrogate, Ilkley, York, Wetherby, Knaresborough, Ripon and selected areas of Leeds. Yorkshire is one of the key regions we serve.

What types of Yorkshire properties do you design for?

We work with country houses, stone villas, barn conversions, period townhouses, contemporary new builds and individual room commissions. Every scheme is tailored to the architecture and the way you live.

What does your service include?

We offer a complete interior design service: spatial planning, material sourcing, bespoke joinery, lighting design, build management, installation and furniture curation. One studio manages every decision from concept through to completion.

Do you work with barn conversions in Yorkshire?

Yes. Barn conversions are a significant part of our Yorkshire work. These properties present unique challenges — exposed stone, double-height spaces, irregular floor plans — that require an interior approach sensitive to the original structure while delivering contemporary comfort.

Can you design interiors for country houses in Yorkshire?

Country houses are central to our Yorkshire portfolio. We work with the existing architecture — Georgian manor houses, Edwardian villas, converted estates — to create interiors that feel both appropriate and lived-in. Our approach is always material-first.
